IN THE HEIGHTS - SEPTEMBER 3, 8 PM

 IN THE HEIGHTS
September 3, Saturday, 8:00 pm
In the Heights Comes to Manila!
Atlantis Productions stages In the Heights, one of the most awarded and critically-acclaimed Broadway musicals in Manila in September.

In the Heights with its hip-hop, salsa, merengue and soul music infused score by Lin Manuel Miranda took Broadway by storm when it opened in 2008 garnering an astounding 13 Tony Award nominations and winning four Tony Awards including the Tony Award for Best Musical.

...
In the Heights tells the universal story of a vibrant community in New York’s Washington Heights neighborhood — a place where the coffee from the corner bodega is light and sweet, the windows are always open and the breeze carries the rhythm of three generations of music. It’s a community on the brink of change, full of hopes, dreams and pressures, where the biggest struggles can be deciding which traditions you take with you, and which ones you leave behind.

Since then, it was revived on Broadway in 1986 and 2005,  with Debbie Allen and Cristina Applegate playing the lead character, Charity, respectively. Nikki Gil takes on this well-loved role for the Manila production.

CHARITY is a dance club hostess who's been through a series of bad boys. She's on the look out for the real thing and is hoping she could have it with Oscar - but could he deal with her occupation? Throughout her troubles, Charity stays bubbly, sweet, ever-hopeful and always lovable.

March 18, Friday, 8pm: NEXT TO NORMAL

"Next to Normal" opened to rave reviews!!!
___________________________________________________________________________

Don't miss your chance to see this Pulitzer and Tony Award winning musical.

Directed by Bobby Garcia, the cast is a powerhouse of veteran theater actors: Menchu Lauchengo-Yulo, Jett Pangan, Felix Rivera, Bea Garcia and Jake Macapagal. Newcomer Markki Stroem of "Pilipinas Got Talent"-fame shows just how talented he really is with his musical theater debut.

The musical is about the Goodmans - a family with struggles and secrets, who desires nothing more than to be "normal". Then again, it could be about all our families. Maybe the best we could all hope for is to be "next to normal".
